Hello all

My response to these two questions, which in a sense confirm each other, 
is this one:

In my opinion, it would be the strong signal necessary to make us wake 
up finally and find answers for our own needs. That we produce our own 
learning materials: there’s nothing complicated or extraordinary there, 
it is just necessary to do it. Most African teachers are able to produce 
the learning materials which they use. It will be necessary to have 
resources to have those materials published, it is another issue but it 
is possible.

Another solution, in the short term, would be to convince authors to 
publish locally their works. So the question is to find publishers that 
can do that. The cost would be less expensive for local people. And if I 
continue that "dream" a little farther, we can then compete with some 
Western publishing houses: as outsourcing becomes a reality with call 
centers, we can also do the same in the other sectors...

My answers do not go in the direction to modify IPR so that they are 
favorable to us, because I find that it is harder than the ideas I have 
described here (David against Goliath fight?). And it is clear that 
there are for sure many other solutions to by-pass (find solution for) 
these problems and, more generally, to by-pass (find solution for) an 
important part of all our socioeconomic development problems.

Africa has an enormous potential through her human resources. When shall 
we will start to use them for the development of our dear continent....
